Week Seventy-six: el ultimo correo :(

On our way to Baños!
Mi querida familia,

It's been quite the adventure! Today we spent my last P-Day in the same place where I spent my first...in Baños! It was a ton of fun! Not sure how, but the nurses miraculously got permission to come with us and they'll be spending the night so it's going to be super fun! Then a bit of mission news...because of Carnaval next Monday and Tuesday they changed the transfers to this Friday...so I'm getting kicked out of my sector a couple days early :( and I'll be in Quito with the nurses until Tuesday. It'll be a blast!

Definitely have been in shock the past few days about what's happening. Still don't believe it. Probably won't until they force me to take off the badge...that's going to hurt. But until then, there are still many souls to find and save!

This week has been so great! We saw so many miracles. My favorite miracle this week was seeing how God led us to the people who really needed it. We saw His hand in every moment. It seemed as if every appointment fell, but we kept praying and kept looking! We gave it our all even when that felt like it wasn't enough. Well as a result we were able to help a sister in the ward who is going through a divorce. It's been really hard for her for a lot of uncontrollable reasons and she has been striving so much to keep the faith! But it hasn't been easy. We didn't know this was going on but felt the impression that we should visit her to see if she had any referrals (because she is AWESOME at giving referrals) Well we got there and she told us everything. It was really sad, but we were able to give her hope and encourage her to keep the covenants she made in the temple despite what was going on. We checked on her a couple more times in the course of the week and according to her we always showed up right when she needed it. I'm grateful for the spirit that guides us in the work of the Lord, even when that sometimes means seeing a lot of appointments fall first! :) It was so special seeing this hermana with all of her children in church on Sunday

As I was looking at the waterfall in Pailon del Diablo today it gave me so much deja vu! It's incredible to me that during this whole time, that waterfall has been constantly flowing with an incredible force. It made me think of all of you, who have been constantly there for me during this time, every week with your emails and prayers. It has been felt. It has shown me and taught me so much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I absolutely love being a missionary. I always have and always will. My mission isn't ending but merely starting. It's the very least I could do to show my love for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know He lives. Not once have I seen it but I sure have felt it. With every fiber of my being. I know that this work is much bigger than any one of us, but that together we can change the lives of many and if we're willing, our own lives. He has changed mine.  And I will forever be grateful.

Although this may be the last of several emails encouraging you all to keep praying, keep reading, and keep believing, that will always be my invitation to you all. I know it works. I've seen it everyday!

I love this gospel and I love all of you. Ecuador has become my home and it will be the hardest thing ever to leave it behind but as many of you have encouraged me, it'll only be for a short time. If we do our part all of us will return to our loving Heavenly Father to be together forever! I can't wait!

les amo con todo mi corazon!

hasta ver,
Hermana Beutler

Week Seventy-five: Wow, what a week it has been!

My favorite graffiti so far.
Hola mi familia!

Wow what a week it has been! We've been running around the entire week it's been great! We did 3 divisions this week with the sisters! It was a ton but we got it done and it was a lot of fun! I always learn so much from the sisters and more than anything the new sisters with their excitement for the work. :)

One of my favorite moments this week was when we were at Mayra and Jorge's house and they were talking about my chances of coming back to Ecuador and Jorge said that I had to come back when they get married...and then Mayra said "the correct word is sealed" hahaha oh man they crack me up and they are so solid! I love them so much! Definitely can't wait for their sealing, they're already married, just getting used to the vocabulary. Mayra is really excited. We're just trying to get her to commit to a date!

I don't have any more time to write, but I love you all and hope that you've had an excellent week!

con amor,
Hermana Beutler

Week Seventy-four: Best. Week. Ever.

Ecuadorian mall...no not really but pretty much.
HOLA FAMILIA!

What an amazing week it has been! Definitely one of my favorites! This week we went to Quito for our Leader's Conference and Élder Montoya came for a Mission Tour. He spoke to us as leaders and we talked about what we can do to resolve some of the difficulties that we have in the mission. IT WAS AMAZING! The spirit was so strong! He literally just came in and asked us what were 5 questions/concerns that we had and went at it. It's incredible how the Lord guides his servants!

Then the next day we had a multizone conference with Elder Montoya. EVEN GREATER! It was such a special experience for me. I felt like everything he said was just for me! Like General Conference! It was the greatest.

This week we saw a huge miracle! We've been teaching a ton of people who are SO excited during the week to progress and they have a baptismal date and everything but lately they've just stopped going to church, even though we've done our best to go with members to get to know them and call and remind them and even go with them. But lately the attendance has been a little low. Well this weekend we did a fast so that we could see a family truly progressing this transfer. Right as sacrament meeting was starting and not a single family that we tried inviting or accompanying showed up, our miracle walked in the room. Mayra and Jorge came! I mentioned them a couple weeks ago, he's inactive and she's not a member. Well they came to church yesterday! When the sacrament was about to be passed Mayra leaned over and asked if Jorge could take the sacrament because HE WAS FASTING. What?! We haven't even taught them about that yet! So long story short they were our big miracle this week. My companion had mentioned on Saturday that she would cry if they came, well she didn't cry but we were so happy!

Hahaha so we were asked to teach the Relief Society lesson on marriage on Sunday....hahahaha. It was so fun.

Oh and I ate octopus this week!I actually didn't realize it until after finishing but it was so delicious that I didn't even care!

Well family. It's been a great week. I love the Gospel. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I know He lives. I know the Gospel is the key to happiness. I am so very happy here on the mission. Thank you all for your emails and support! I love you all and can't wait to see what's in store this week in Ecuador!

Have an amazing week!
con mucho amor,
